Ms. Benly B is an Assistant Professor in Political Science at St. Albert’s College, Ernakulam since 2013. She served as the Head of the Department of Economics from 2014 to 2016. Her teaching interests are Indian Constitution and Human Rights. She has several publications in international and national journals and magazines. She evaluates student’s performance by conducting discussions, elocutions, debates and test papers. She directs students to study together to generate new ideas to strengthen Democracy and also empower them to be responsible citizens. She was the Nodal Officer of the UGC Sponsored Human Rights Foundation Course from 2015 to 2020. She organized many seminars and invited lectures on socially and politically relevant topics. She is serving as the Member, Question Paper Scrutiny Board and Member, Board of Question Paper Setters, University of Kerala since 2018. She along with a group of students (Human Rights Sena) is conducting social outreach programs relating to human rights protection and awareness including street plays, lectures, photo exhibitions, orphanage visits, old age homes visit, etc. She is in charge of the House- visit program of the Department and conducts house visits to give moral and mental support to the needy students and to create positive relations with the students. She was a recipient of gold medal from Kerala University for B.A and M.A Degree in Political Science.
