Dr. Lijo Thomas George did his PhD from Raman Research Institute, Bangalore where he worked on observational radio astronomy. As part of his work he used radio frequency data from various telescopes across the world to study galaxy clusters which are the largest gravitationally bound objects in the Universe. After his PhD he was a Post-Doctoral Fellow at the National Centre for Radio Astrophysics, Pune for 3 years. Subsequently he joined St. Albert’s College (Autonomous) as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Physics.
His research interests include galaxy clusters, cosmology as well as computational astrophysics.
