Linda George is an Assistant Professor of Economics, at the Postgraduate Department of Economics, St. Albert’s College (Autonomous), Ernakulam where she has been employed since October 2014. Prior to this, she was as a part time lecturer in BCM College Kottayam and Baselius College Kottayam. She cleared the National Eligibility Test for Lectureship and received the Junior Research Fellowship in 2012. The area of her specialization includes Financial Markets, Banking and Microeconomics. She teaches Microeconomics, Public Economics, Environmental Economics and Sustainable development, Indian Economy, International trade and Agricultural Economics. Twenty one PG and fourteen groups of UG students completed their dissertation/ projects of MA and BA under her guidance.
In 2018, a proposal for two online courses designed by her titled Economic History of India from 1857 to 1947 and Environmental Economics and policies was approved by the University Grants Commission. In 2019, she was selected for the training programme for capacity building and handholding of existing and potential Course Coordinators for the development of MOOCs (Massive Open Online Courses) on SWAYAM platform organized by MHRD and NITTTR, Chennai. The MOOC on Economic History of India was launched in the SWAYAM platform in 2020 and was approved for a re-run in 2022.
She is a resource person on e- content development and has taken many sessions in various colleges. She has to her credit two chapters on multi disciplinary areas in two books and two international publications. She also participated and presented papers in many national and international seminars and workshops. She is a member of Kerala Economic Association and World Economics Association. She is the faculty coordinator of the Economics Association SEED and is a Civil Service trainer of the CSGP programme of the College. She received her B.A and M.A in Economics from Mahatma Gandhi University and Ph.D. in financial inclusion from Mahatma Gandhi University.
