Dr. Sajeesh T H joined Dept. of Physics, St. Albert’s College (Autonomous), Ernakulam as Assistant Professor in 2013. Prior to that, he worked as Assistant Professor at RV College of Engineering (Autonomous) Bangalore. He completed his post graduate studies in Physics at the Department of Physics, Calicut University in 2005 and was awarded PhD in 2012 by the Cochin University of Science and Technology.
His research work focused mainly on the fabrication of low cost, eco-friendly thin film solar cells using earth abundant materials and easily adaptable/scalable deposition technique. The highlight of his Ph.D. work was that he could prove that, an “all sprayed thin film solar cell using Sn chalcogenide based absorber and window layers” is no more a distant dream. He was also associated with consultancy projects funded by Corus group Plc, Netherlands and HHV, India during the tenure of his doctoral research. His experience includes deposition and characterization of novel thin films using various techniques for opto-electronic applications. Other frontier research areas in which he could associate during his post-doctoral research includes the development of a-Si Solar cells using PECVD technique, studies on Quantum dot sensitized solar cells and Plasmonic solar cells.
He was a visiting scholar at ERIAN, NTU Singapore and a recipient of various UGC fellowships like RFSMS, Senior Research Fellowship and Kothari Post-doctoral Fellowship. He was also awarded with ENEA International Post-doctoral fellowship, Italy in 2013 and FLAIR International Internship by the Kerala Government in 2016-17. He has ten international publications and a good number of International and National conference presentations to his credit (h index = 8, citations >300). He could successfully complete a UGC funded project and was able to indigenously develop an automated spray coating machine for thin film deposition and a temperature dependent conductivity unit for probing the defect levels of materials in his lab. He also serves as the Dean of Academic Affairs at St. Albert’s College (Autonomous).
