Dr. Vijay John Gerson completed his undergraduate and Post-graduate studies in Chemistry from St Albert’s College and joined his alma mater as Guest Lecturer in the Department of Chemistry. He took a break from his teaching career to obtain his B Ed. Degree in Physical Science from Avila College, Edakochi. On completing his B.Ed. he joined Assisi Vidyaniketan Public School, Chembumukku as Chemistry teacher. Sensing the need to deepen his knowledge in his subject he joined the National Institute of Oceanography, Kochi, as Research Scholar and was awarded Ph.D. in Chemical Oceanography from Cochin University of Science and Technology. He continued his research at National Institute of Oceanography. He also acquired a Post Graduate Diploma in Management from the Indira Gandhi Open University.  He continued to contribute to national as well as international science journals and he has 12 papers to his credit. He was appointed as Assistant Professor in the Department of Chemistry, St. Albert’s College, Ernakulam in 2011. He is the Dean of Student Affairs, Nodal Officer for Scholarships and Member- Academic Council of the College. He had always nurtured in him an ambition to be a teacher so that he could help moulding the young generation and also keep himself updated in the field of knowledge which is his all time passion.
